789 JAM CANCELED FOR DEC. 11
Due to the chance of freezing rain arriving in our area Friday evening, December’s 789 JAM is canceled. Freezing rain creates very unsafe driving conditions, and we want everyone to be safe. Please join us at the next 789 JAM on Friday, January 22.

I am a 7th grader at Athey and i dont think it is fair to cancel it quite yet. Yes, we may have freezing rain, but if we don’t, it would be especially unfair because it would be canceled for no reason at all! I think that you should wait until you are sure that there will be freezing rain until you cancel it. Everyone loves the jams so much and we would all be really sad if it was canceled for no reason!
Thats stupid!!! what if it doesn’t rain and they were wrong. Then you’ve let a whole lot of kids down!!!!!!!
We’re glad you guys are enjoying the JAMs and are also disappointed that we’ve had to cancel tomorrow night’s dance. But the bottom line is that we want to make sure everyone is safe. There’s a winter storm watch for tomorrow evening, but no way to know whether there will be freezing rain for sure until it happens, and then it’s too late. Freezing rain = black ice = parents in bumper cars!
